Nightfall In Honolulu
The night stretches
its bony fingers of shadow
over the city and sky,
above Diamond Head
has already changed its color
to a red and gray swirl which
looks like a messy palette
of an illusive painter.
The last pale pink shine
of an unreal round sun
submerges majestically
into the endless mass
of the cobalt tinted ocean.
The great body of water
dances under the spell of a
secret ancient rhythmic
to the impregnable
soft sounds which hallow the
infinitive space.
With short white surf caps
walks
his spirit to the beach through the high tides
and lies down on the yellow beach sand
while rests his pearly wet arms
along the wavy stretched out shoreline.
Dark shredded sea plants
and little sharp
edged coral fingers remain disordered
on the shore and behind the unruly
silhouette of the tall trade wind palms,
the day goes quietly to sleep,
disappearing into the dark house
of the tropical night.
